Meet Amira
Amira El-Fassi! I’m a home cook, a wife, and a mom who loves mixing flavors from different places. I grew up in Casablanca, Morocco, where I learned to cook traditional Moroccan food from my mother. After moving to the U.S., I fell in love with American cooking while still keeping my Moroccan roots. Now, I enjoy creating simple and tasty recipes that bring together the best of Moroccan and American flavors.
I grew up in Casablanca, Morocco, where food was a big part of family life. My mom was an amazing cook, and I spent hours in the kitchen learning from her. I learned how to make all kinds of Moroccan dishes, Food has always been a way for us to come together and share love.
When I moved to the U.S. in my twenties, I wanted to share my Moroccan roots with others. Along the way, I picked up some American cooking skills and learned a lot about their food culture. It just feels like home to me with all its comforting dishes and bold flavors.
I love learning about different cultures through food. From the street food of Thailand to the pastries of France, I’m always excited to try something new. Now, I live with my husband and two kids in a small town, and I’m still doing what I love—creating meals that bring a little taste of Morocco, Italy, and America to our table. My kitchen is where I feel happiest, whether I’m cooking a tagine, making pasta, or perfecting a classic American dish.
