About me

Meet Amira

Hi, I’m Amira El-Fassi. I’m a cook, traveler, and proud Moroccan who loves to share my food with others. I’ve had the chance to share my recipes in a few local magazines and blogs, where I hope people can see my love for food and cooking.

I grew up in Casablanca, Morocco, where food was a big part of family life. My mom was an amazing cook, and I spent hours in the kitchen learning from her. I learned how to make all kinds of Moroccan dishes, using spices like saffron, cumin, and cinnamon. Food has always been a way for us to come together and share love.

When I moved to the U.S. in my twenties, I wanted to share my Moroccan roots with others. Along the way, I picked up some Italian cooking skills and learned a lot about their food culture. But no matter what, I always come back to American food. It just feels like home to me with all its comforting dishes and bold flavors.

I love learning about different cultures through food. From the street food of Thailand to the pastries of France, I’m always excited to try something new. Now, I live with my husband and two kids in a small town, and I’m still doing what I love—creating meals that bring a little taste of Morocco, Italy, and America to our table. My kitchen is where I feel happiest, whether I’m cooking a tagine, making pasta, or perfecting a classic American dish.
